Section 1 – Prerequisites

The FOOLS invites anyone that supports the tradition of the fire service. We welcome fire chiefs on down to the newest recruit amongst our ranks. Career, Volunteer, Union, Management, EMT’s, Paramedics, or retired are all welcome.

The Badgerland FOOLS exist to keep the tradition of the fire service alive. Help us keep the tradition alive. FOOLS International reserves the right to decline or revoke membership for just cause as seen fit by the Executive Board of the International.

The member may challenge the revocation of its status by written appeal to the International within 30 days of receipt of notice of such revocation. Failure to appeal within 30 days shall confirm the revocation and bar any later challenge or appeal.

Section 2 – Eligibility

Eligibility requires members to hold the status of firefighter in one or more of the following capacities:

  1. Career Firefighter
  2. Paid-On-Call
  3. Volunteer
  4. Fire Service Training Division Member
  5. Retired from any of the above.

Section 3 – Establishing Membership
  1. Potential members must be referred by an active member of the Chapter.
  2. Potential members must complete an application to be presented to the membership and be presented to the membership the following month for an informal interview by the membership.
  3. Potential members must be at least 21 years of age or older with a minimum of three years experience in the fire service to join the Badgerland Chapter.
  4. Members must be approved by a simple majority of those present.
  5. members must register and donate dues to FOOLS International for a Lifetime membership. An annual fee will be collected for chapter membership dues.
  6. Only members who are registered with the international shell be counter for delegate appointment, or international committee representation.

Section 4 – Maintaining Membership
  1. Members must be true to one’s profession and agree to uphold the mission statement of the Badgerland FOOLS and FOOLS International.
  2. Members must remain current in paying their annual dues
  3. Members must attend at least half of the scheduled meetings and events or be excused from attendance by a member of the Executive Board.
  4. Members may refer a maximum of three potential new members during a calendar year.
